Signal
Details
We are thrilled to collaborate with Atlanta-based painter Michelle Armas, whose Totem series has made her one of the most collected abstract artists working in the American South. Each totem is a vertical stack of rounded, irregular forms built up in oil, ink, and dye on raw canvas, where no two shapes carry the same weight, texture, or charge. The forms bleed, bloom, and resist each other. Color does the structural work. We have translated four of these paintings into wallpaper, preserving the raw canvas ground and Armas's hand at full scale.
Signal is every color Armas reaches for, at full intensity. Vertical strands run in a continuous press of form — yellow-green, coral, violet, cerulean, red, and jade — each bead distinct but the whole reading as one sustained, joyful argument for color. The loudest of the four. It earns it.
