It started with a phone, some flowers, and no real plan.
I began photographing flowers because I needed to make something beautiful and I needed to heal. Those photographs became prints. The prints became wallpaper. And somehow, what began so simply grew into a world I never could have imagined.
Over the years, that world has changed. And so have I.
This new chapter feels less like starting over and more like returning to myself. To the things I have always loved and that have always found their way into my work: flowers, art, fashion, interiors, travel, film, old things, strange things, beautiful things, and the endless possibilities of pattern and color.
And now, simply, AWB.
The name is familiar. They are my initials, after all. But AWB gives us room to grow beyond what I have created before.
And for the first time, this chapter isn't mine alone.
Moving forward, you’ll also be hearing a new voice at the front of AWB: Sophia Holmes.
Sophia and I met in 2014, and what began as a working relationship became something much bigger. From her home in Tasmania, on almost the exact opposite side of the world from me, she became the person I could talk to about the business, the work, the ideas and where all of this could go.
Sophia sees AWB in a way that is both different from and incredibly complementary to the way I see it. She brings a sharp eye, a thoughtful perspective and an understanding of the business that gives me more freedom to do what I do best: create.
She is now my partner in AWB and an integral part of what we are building together.
So while AWB began with me, its next chapter is very much us.
There will always be flowers. They are part of me and part of the history of AWB. But there will also be new patterns, new ideas, new materials and new ways of bringing art into the spaces where we live.
You’ll hear from both of us. You’ll see what inspires us, what we are working on, what we are thinking about, and probably a little of what happens when two women on opposite sides of the world decide to build something together.
